Azimuth

Azimuth is a term used in satellite. Azimuth to refer to the direction in which a satellite dish must be pointed to receive signals from a particular satellite in orbit. It is measured in degrees and represents the horizontal angle between due north and the direction in which the dish must be pointed.

To determine the correct azimuth for a particular satellite, one must know the satellite's location in the sky relative to the receiver's location on the earth. This information can typically be obtained from a satellite dish pointing calculator or a satellite finder app. Once the correct azimuth is determined, the dish can be adjusted horizontally until it is pointed in the correct direction, which will allow it to receive signals from the desired satellite.
